Be very careful of the people you keep in your space as well as the conversations you allow into your space. As we all know we become products of our environments so easily, accepting and seeing our current positioning as the reality. As well, be assured that not everyone around you will understand your dreams and see the potential in you, not even those closest to you. It must surely be such a scary and emotional space to be in, alone with your dreams. When you believe so strongly in what you hold, a beautiful secret, a gift really to the world which you want to unleash . And for being gifted with this dream, such great responsibility is immediately placed on you. From wherever you are, do whatever you can to getting a step closer to your dreams. Platforms are all around us, for which you to build or…

WCW , is a widely used acronym in the cyber world to somewhat pay homage to women one may admire . This trend has become a hit across all social media platforms , from Facebook to Twitter to Tumblr and not forgetting Instagram. Social media expert , Leslie Walker writes , “WCW has become a cultural “award” or unofficial honor that anyone can bestow on anyone, “. WCW stands for Women Crush Wednesday , and of course you could be crushing on any aspect which you admire of the specific woman , but most commonly the crush is over the physical attributes one possess – their beauty . I came across an interesting piece written by Siseko Mzimela , aka @CaseyWaves on Instagram on Wednesday 7/10/15 and thought to further share parts of his views which I found to be significant . ” I’m guilty of roasting black girls all…

Very few organisations nowadays have actual pure intent at putting out content which is positive, mutually beneficial and readily available to the youth and just the general public at large. To move us, to direct us and to actually affirm us in our potential. My days are filled with a large pool of content from various YouTube pages which I am subscribed to. For the longest time I have been following the Nedbank page and more specifically the Nedbank Talk For Success. I have loved the content which is put out, highly relatable, conversational and more importantly motivational. The latest posts which I have identified with are the part 1-7 by The Queen B herself, Bonang Matheba as well as Nandi Mngoma. More specifically, the 5th point is what stuck out for me in Bonang’s talk. The law of attraction, as was introduced and affirmed for me for the first…

The reality of life is that you’re never really alone but need to be able to identify yourself as an individual in the crowd. You need to deal with the war within yourself before even considering the war on the outer, what people have to say about you. Let not your voice imprison you or wear you out. Your inner voice is far louder and holds so much power over us than we actually know. So much responsibility has been committed to you solely by the gift which rests in you, for the world. That idea of who you truly are, run with it. Take that step confidently and boldly because it may be the key transitionary step from who you thought you were into who you were born to be. Step into your purpose, don’t stumble down the steps because of the doubt that is trying to take over…

Decisions and choices are such tests of character . Over the years I most certainly have always been baffled as to how people come up with the conclusions and the decisions they do . It’s true what they say that you shouldn’t mock a pain or situation you haven’t had first hand experience of. The hardest decisions to make very often involve you having to be selfish and I must say that’s not something that comes easily for me . I have had to realise that being selfish isn’t necessarily a bad thing , it isn’t actually what it is made out to be . Being selfish is seemingly viewed from one dimension , and I would say ‘selfish ‘ is simply a harsh way of saying one must align their priorities . What are my priorities ? Well , that’s what I had a tough time having to think…

Audacious, defined as “Showing a willingness to take surprisingly bold risks.‘’ Synonyms included are “bold, daring, fearless, intrepid, brave, unafraid valiant “ Behold, what is yours is right in front of you. The tricky part is actually realising this and then claiming it. Audacious living requires great faith and perseverance, pressing on and breaking boundaries you had probably never ever even realized existed. When you feel awkward and uncomfortable is when you know you are doing something different or differently, and sometimes a different approach is really all you need. And the beauty of it all is the amount of courage and fearless approach which you suddenly have when you have clearly envisioned your dream(s) . Destiny isn’t for the non-audacious, you’ve got to be willing to sacrifice that comfort zone and get into a space which requires that higher level of fight in you to come out. Stay the…

A recent campaign which has caught the attention of many in South Africa is undoubtedly the #MakeItStop campaign . This campaign aims to create awareness of women’s abuse which was aligned to fall during the month of August , Women’s month . The reception has been both negative and positively received by the masses. The concerns raised include those of the race of all the activists involved , which people feel implies that women abuse is exclusive to African women. A second concern was that of the campaign dampening the celebration of women and highlighting mainly the negative. The third and last main concern I have come across is that ‘celebrities’ were used for the campaign and not you girl next door. My personal view is that this was a well put out campaign from people who have a voice , speaking up for those whose reach isn’t as large…

I legit woke up with aches and pains from shooting in all these peculiar positions . So , guess who needs to get back to gym . I got a major wake up call from doing this shoot . Nothing is ever as easy as it looks . In all areas of ones life , effort is required. The amount of seed you sow will determine your harvest. Relationships , friendships , work , business all work the same. Constantly preparing yourself for that opportune moment is necessary and even more so if that is what puts food on your table for you and yours. I got home and took a silent moment to put everything into perspective , to acknowledge what is required of me step by step to get to my ultimate goal(s) . What ties I need to cut , what bad habits I need to work…

Very often we over adapt to fit situations and to make those around us feel more comfortable . But , where does this then leave us ? Be watchful of the people you hold so highly in your life. Many of the people you toast with secretly toast too when you hit rock bottom . Very few are loyal so it is highly important you remain loyal and true to your feelings , your beliefs , your journey and to love your truth . Never forget who you are in and out of any unique situation , wear your truth like armor. ” Be yourself – not your idea of what you think somebody else’s idea of yourself should be . ” Thoreau
