Day in and day out, we are exposed to the sun’s harmful radiation also known as UV rays. Contrary to popular belief, whether it’s scorching hot or not, it’s important to have sunscreen as part of your skincare routine. This is an important commitment for you to take through all four seasons.

Sunscreen, otherwise known to many others as sunblock, reduces your risk of getting skin cancer, sunburn as well as premature skin aging. I personally used to shun upon all these facts and take skin care for granted until I took the time to educate myself. Only now am I more conscious of the benefits of using sunscreen as part of my skincare routine.

With technology developments, dermatologist have been able to formulate skin care products which are specific to ones skin types as well as different SPF levels. I believe this is a brilliant way forward because now your skins unique needs can be better accommodated/taken care of.

During the week I received a delivery from Eucerin and I thought I should share the information they’ve sent through. Eucerin has formulated a sunscreen specific for oily, acne-prone skin. The sunscreen with a 50+ SPF is said to be the answer to anti-shine photo ready skin even when the sun is shining.

Here is an interesting fact about oily skin which highlights why sun protection is so important:
– Oily skin is often accompanied by blemishes which make skin extremely prone to dark marks and pigmentation when exposed to the sun’s UV rays.

When I applied the Sun Gel-Creme I absolutely enjoyed how light it was in texture, it melted quickly into my skin. It wasn’t greasy or sticky and doesn’t have a typically strong sunscreen scent. This formula is said to have “drastically reduced proportions of oil-based filters — without compromising on UV protection” which explains why it felt the way it did on my skin. In addition to the sun protection, the Creme is said to contain oil control technology for an immediate and long-lasting dry matte-finish.

GIVE AWAY:

Sharing is caring, and so I’m giving away the Eucerin Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control Dry Touch Face SPF 50+ to a lucky reader to try out with me. Simply comment on this post and let me know what your general thoughts are on sunscreen. Good luck!

    Hey beautiful ?
Sunscreen is a beauty editor, prevents facial brown spots, reduces the appearance of facial red veins and slows down the development of wrinkled premature aging skin. It’s a must have!!

I’m really bad with sunscreen, I’ve gotten a skin care routine down that really works for me but haven’t added in a sunscreen mainly because of my oily skin and the more oily it gets the more I breakout. When the sun shines, we shine which is why I love the sun. They say the shade offers protection from the UV light and it’s true…but why hide in the shade when you can simply apply sun screen and enjoy the sun without worrying about damaging skin.

    • I absolutely love the sun too, just like you! I hope you’re aware that NOT all shade is as equally protective. So simply put, don’t think at any point that sunscreen isn’t important. Keep yourself Sunscreened up! 🙂

  6. I absolutely agree with you with regards to the importance of sunscreen but I have one issue with it , my pores get so clogged. I have oily skin and every time I use my sunscreen I get a breakout. I’ve still yet to get a sublnscreen suitable for my skin type.

    • Sounds to me like this product could be the most perfect for you because of how it’s been formulated to not clog your pores.
